How to re-pot succulents in your favorite pots?
Last Saturday, when I was shopping in Diptyque, I saw them displaying their candle holder with succulents.
I used to use them as vases. They are nicely matched with succulents. However, I do not recommend you to do so, since there is no drainage hole and, it’s very hard for you to drill one as they are thick glasses.
Later on, I finished a whole tin of Starbucks coffee, an idea flashed in my mind:
why not turn this little cute tin into my succulent pot? So I started doing this!
Here are the steps of re-potting the succulents:
- First thing first, drill a hole at the bottom of the tin, it allows water to go in and out, and allow the plants to breath;
- Secondly, put enough but not too much soil into your pots, dig a shallow hole in it;
- Next, place your succulent in it, then gently cover the roots with more of the potting soil to stabilize the plant. Be sure to add enough to reach the base of the plant, but don't cover any leaves or let the leaves rest on top of the soil!
- Finally, decorate your whole masterpiece with some tumbled crystals.
Now you’re nicely done!!!
❥I enjoy the DIY process a lot.
You can try it out with something reusable as well.
For example, a Coca-Cola can, a water bottle, etc.As long as a hole can be easily drilled. Besides, do you realize that decorating the top of the soil of your plant is pretty important as well? It makes your plant looks more delicate.
